Because if I know anything, it's that the birth is just the start. It's the upbringing that's important. It's the Influences. Otherwise the child will never learn to use its powers. At least, not necessarily as intended. )

No one ever taught the Philosopher about the "don't talk about religion" rule. [07 Oct 2009|01:39pm]
The reading list for Religious Prophecies looks fascinating. The study of religion in Neopolis really brings up some interesting subjects, especially considering that many of our peers have legitimate proof regarding the existence of certain religious matters: some are related to Greek Gods, some have corresponded with Lucifer, some receive their powers from subsets of eastern mysticism. I could imagine that we could make quite a list.

Though I would never want to jump to conclusions (or assume to have all of the answers on this or any subject) it seems to me that the natural indication here is that religion isn't something that can be tied down and reduced into any one box. Certainly we can all agree that there are realms beyond our own which will likely never be understood in entirety by one single person.

I'm looking forward to learning about the prophecies of different religions. I'm willing to bet that there will be quite a bit of overlap and similarities between them -- leading credence to the theory that we are all much more connected than we might think, no matter our culture or specific theological beliefs.

The Philosopher likes books. [04 Oct 2009|12:24am]
I received notification that the Neopolis Library will be having a big book sale tomorrow at their central location downtown from 10am until 3pm. It should be very interesting, they're reportedly going to have thousands of editions available for very low prices. I just thought that I would let everyone know.

The Philosopher is being released. [01 Sep 2009|10:32am]
[PRIVATE TO: LANCE CRAWFORD]
I'm coming home today. How bad is it? How are they?

[PRIVATE TO: GRACE GOOD]
I'm sorry for the things I said. I appreciate that you attempted to stop me.

[PRIVATE TO: BENITA RAINE]
I've gone to my room to collect my belongings before I go back to Neopolis. You were asleep when I left, or else I would have taken the time to say goodbye. The copy of The Evolution of God on the table next to your bed is for you to keep. Thank you for keeping me company yesterday. I hope that you feel better soon.

[PRIVATE TO: PROFESSOR CARRICK]
I think I owe you an apology, sir.

[PRIVATE TO: CHLOE RIVERS]
It looks like maybe we would have been right to go with our instincts in regards to formal dances. Are you okay?

The Philosopher is not panicking. [29 Aug 2009|04:43pm]
Before the e-mail and phones stopped working, I got a news update from the Scoop.

Apparently the entire city is under attack, and there's rioting going on. They didn't give many more details than that, sorry.

The electricity seems to have gone out. I'd recommend that people find candles and flashlights before nightfall.

o1. The Philosopher makes an entrance. [17 Aug 2009|09:59am]
I seem to have misplaced my copy of A Theory of Justice. I think that I might have left it in the dining hall this morning at breakfast, but I went back and can't seem to find it. If anyone picked it up, I'd appreciate getting it back.

Vera, I hope that you had a good birthday. Your party was quite something.
